Escape the Coming Wrath

The Fear You’re Feeling Is Real

You may have arrived here because the signs of the times are unmistakable. Wars, rumors of wars, moral collapse, technological control systems, rising hostility toward Israel and the people of God — the world is moving exactly as Scripture said it would in the last days.

But the greatest danger is not the tribulation that is coming upon the earth. The greatest danger is standing before a holy God still in your sins.

“It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” — Hebrews 9:27

Every one of us will stand before God. Whether the Lord returns first or death comes first, no one escapes that appointment. The question is not if you will face judgment. The question is whether you will face it still carrying the guilt of your sin — or whether you will face it already forgiven through Jesus Christ.

How Do You Measure Up?

Most people think they are “good enough.” Let’s test that claim against God’s standard — the Ten Commandments.

Have you ever…

Told a lie? (Even a “white” lie.)
Stolen anything? (Even something small.)
Used God’s name as a curse word?
Looked with lust? Jesus said that is adultery of the heart (Matthew 5:28).
Hated someone? Jesus said that is murder of the heart (Matthew 5:21-22).
Put anything or anyone before God?

If you’re honest, you’ve broken God’s law. The Bible says:

“Whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.” — James 2:10

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

The penalty for sin is not a slap on the wrist. It is death — eternal separation from God in hell.

“The wages of sin is death…” — Romans 6:23a

On Judgment Day, if you stand before God in your own goodness, you will be found guilty.

The Only Way of Escape

God is not only just — He is also rich in mercy. He provided a way for guilty sinners to be forgiven without compromising His justice.

Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man. He lived a perfect, sinless life. Then He went to the cross and willingly took the full punishment that you and I deserve. He died in our place. Three days later He rose from the dead, proving that the payment was accepted.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21

“…but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23b

This is not religion. This is not “trying harder.” This is a rescue. Jesus took the wrath you earned so that you can receive the life He earned.

There is only one way of escape

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Count the Cost

Jesus never offered cheap grace. He called people to follow Him — and He told them to count the cost first.

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” — Luke 9:23

Following Jesus means:

Turning from sin (repentance) — not just feeling sorry, but changing direction.
Trusting completely in what Jesus did on the cross, not in your own good works.
Surrendering the right to run your own life. He becomes Lord.
Being willing to obey Him even when it costs you relationships, reputation, comfort, or more.

The Christian life is not always easy. In some places it costs everything. But the alternative — remaining under the wrath of God — is infinitely worse.

The cost of following Jesus is high. The cost of rejecting Him is eternal.

How to Respond Right Now

Salvation is a free gift, but it must be received. The Bible tells us how:

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” — Acts 3:19

What you must do:

Admit you are a sinner under the judgment of a holy God.
Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again.
Repent — turn from your sin and self-rule.
Call on Jesus as Lord and Savior. Surrender your life to Him.

You can do this right now. There is no magic prayer, but if these words express the desire of your heart, you can pray something like this:

“God, I know I am a sinner. I have broken Your law and deserve Your judgment. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sin and from running my own life. I trust in Jesus alone to save me. I receive Him as my Lord and Savior. Help me to follow You for the rest of my life. Amen.”

If you genuinely turned to Christ just now, the Bible says you have passed from death to life. Your sins are forgiven. You are a new creation. Welcome to the family of God.

Two important next acts of obedience

1. Publicly confess Jesus — Tell someone what you have done. Jesus said, “Everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32)

2. Be baptized — Baptism is the outward sign of the inward reality. It does not save you, but it is the first step of obedience Jesus commanded for every new believer (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38).

What Next?

Coming to Christ is the beginning, not the end. Here’s how to grow:

1. Read the Bible every day

Start with the Gospel of John, then the rest of the New Testament. The Bible is how God speaks to His people. A simple plan is better than no plan.

2. Pray

Talk to God honestly. Thank Him. Confess sin quickly. Ask for help. Prayer is relationship, not performance.

3. Find a Bible-believing church

You need the teaching, encouragement, accountability, and fellowship of other believers. Look for a church that:

Preaches the Bible as the final authority
Teaches that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone
Practices believer’s baptism
Holds to a clear gospel and does not water down sin or the exclusivity of Christ

Avoid churches that treat the Bible as optional, deny a literal hell, or promote works-based salvation.

4. Tell others

The same gospel that saved you is the only hope for the people around you. Start with your family and friends. Live it and speak it.

5. Keep growing

Systematic Bible reading, sound teaching, and fellowship will strengthen you for the days ahead. The same Lord who saved you will keep you.

“He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6

The door is still open

The signs of the times are accelerating. The wrath of God is coming. But today is still the day of salvation.

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” — Romans 10:13
